Themes – The Creative Inspirations Behind Each Month’s Content
March: Guardians of the Fjord
March brings the stunning beauty and rich heritage of Norway into the spotlight with the Guardians of the Fjord theme. This month's content pays tribute to European naval history, celebrating the defenders of freedom and spirit of resilience. Players will have the opportunity to command European Tier VII destroyer Stord '43, available in the Blitz Pass. The game aesthetics throughout the month are inspired by the breathtaking Aurora Borealis, illuminating the seas with a mystical glow. Players will also meet historical figures like Skule Valentin Storheill and Bruce Fraser, emphasizing the theme of courage and leadership in the face of adversity.
April: Florentine Renaissance
April takes a bold turn with a Renaissance-inspired theme, "Florentine Renaissance," directly tied to the arrival of Italian Tier VII cruiser Francesco Ferruccio. The name pays homage to Francesco Ferruccio, a historical figure known for his unyielding spirit and dedication to victory. This theme explores the elegance and brilliant innovation of the Italian Renaissance, reflected in the game cosmetics and content throughout the month. You will also be able to add Francesco Ferruccio to your roster as a Commander, bringing his legacy to life in the game.
Now, let’s dive into what’s new in this update!
Concealment Changes
The 8.0 update introduces a significant overhaul to the concealment system, aimed at improving intuitive gameplay and balance. Here's what's new:
Firing Mechanics Adjustment:
- When a ship fires its main or secondary guns, its concealment value will now dynamically adjust to match the current firing range.
- Torpedoes, auto-secondary guns, and squadrons are exempt from this rule.
Resetting Concealment:
- If no enemy targets are within the ship's concealment range, the concealment value will revert to its original state after 3 seconds.
- If enemy targets remain within range:
- Concealment will stay at the firing range for up to 20 seconds.
- It resets earlier if the target is destroyed, moves out of range, or is blocked by terrain.
Minimap Enhancements:
- The main gun firing range displayed on the Minimap now adjusts dynamically, reflecting any active skill or equipment effects.
We'll continue to balance and optimize ship concealment values in future updates based on player feedback and battle data.
UI Updates: Enhanced Main Port and Shop Experience
In Update 8.0, we've made several adjustments to the main Port window and in-game Shop to streamline navigation and improve your overall experience. These updates aim to make essential features more accessible while maintaining a polished look.
We understand that UI changes are highly sensitive and impact everyone’s gameplay experience. That’s why we’re closely monitoring player feedback and are committed to making further adjustments based on your input. Your opinions matter to us, and we’re here to ensure the UI serves your needs in the best way possible.
Please share your thoughts—your feedback is crucial as we continue refining your journey!
New Quick Invitation Feature
Update 8.0 introduces the Quick Invitation system, making it easier than ever for players to team up for battles. Here's how it works:
Streamlined Invitations:
- The "Invite All" button has been replaced with a more efficient "Quick Invitation" option.
- Team leaders can now send instant invites to both the World and Fleet channels.
Visual Interface:
- The Quick Invitation banner clearly displays the expected ship tier and preferred ship types for the party.
- The button prompt encourages immediate participation with clear messaging like "Join Now!", and the text is entirely customizable.
Player Requirements:
- Team leaders can set rank requirements for invited players.
- Preferred ship types and tiers can be specified, but these settings act as recommendations rather than restrictions.
Cooldown Timer:
- After sending a Quick Invitation, there will be a 60-second cooldown before another invite can be issued.
Joining Mechanics:
- Players who meet the requirements will see the invite in their channel and can join instantly by clicking "Join Now!".
Supership Matchmaking Update
- Tier Adjustment: Superships now display as Tier XI (☆) but function as Tier X in matchmaking, allowing them to join Tier IX–X battle rooms.
- No More Supership Bots: AI-controlled Superships have been disabled.
- Unlimited Supership Slots: The previous cap on the number of Superships per side has been removed.
- Balanced Distribution: The system will now attempt to balance the number of Superships on each team for fairer matches.
Upcoming Supership Season
The next Supership season, Abyss, will begin on February 13 and run until April 13. This season will expand the Supership roster with four new ships:
- French cruiser Condé
- Soviet destroyer Zorkiy
- German battleship Hannover
- British cruiser Edgar
Refined Supership Experience:
Following the Pilot Season, we've made significant adjustments based on player feedback, including reduced battle costs for both XP and Silver.
Commonwealth Cruisers – Firepower Expanded!
The Commonwealth cruiser Techline continues to grow, with even-tier ships from II to X now joining the ranks! Known for their powerful HE shells and impressive fire-starting potential, especially with their unique Combat Instructions active, these cruisers are built to bring the heat to any battle.
New Ships in the Line:
- Tier II – Port Jackson
- Tier IV – Dunedin
- Tier VI – Hobart
- Tier VIII – Auckland
- Tier X – Cerberus
Unique Combat Instruction: Spark
The unique Combat Instruction introduced in the first part of the Techline remain integral to this expansion.
- Activation Method: Trigger the "Combat Instruction: Spark" skill by setting a specific number of fires on enemy ships, showcasing the cruisers' unrivaled fire-starting abilities.
- Key Advantage: Amplify your offensive output, but remember—it’s purely an offensive skill with no defensive perks, so timing is critical.
Playstyle Tips:
- Adapt to Even-Tier Versatility: Even-tier ships bring new opportunities to master both mid- and long-range engagements, excelling in creating pressure zones with their HE damage.
- Maximize Crawling Smoke: Use the smoke generator to remain concealed while delivering accurate, punishing volleys of firepower.
The even-tier Commonwealth cruisers are arriving in Early Access in early March.

Combining elements from Roma and Vittorio Veneto, Victoria excels with an outstanding skill set but sacrifices base attributes. A reliable choice for players seeking versatility.

What’s Next?
Our journey of refining and expanding World of Warships Blitz continues, with some exciting developments and critical improvements on the horizon:
UI Overhaul Progress Continues
The UI revamp remains a top priority. This transformation aims to deliver a sleeker, more intuitive experience across the game. While we’re committed to releasing it as soon as possible, we want to ensure it’s polished to perfection before it reaches your screens. Expect clearer navigation, smoother interactions, and a refreshed look once the final version arrives.
Single Realm Matchmaking & Fast Game Mode
We’re still hard at work on Single Realm Matchmaking and the Fast Game Mode, both of which will offer game-changing improvements. Single Realm Matchmaking will create a unified battlefield for all servers, enhancing matchmaking speed and opponent variety. Meanwhile, the Fast Game Mode promises shorter, action-packed battles while maintaining tactical depth. These features are shaping up well, and we’re optimistic about releasing them within the next few updates.
Next Techline: Pan-American Battleships
Prepare to expand your fleet! The next major addition will be the Pan-American battleship Techline, headlined by mighty Tier X Libertad. This line will bring a fresh playstyle and new tactical possibilities, giving battleship enthusiasts more firepower to command the seas.
Performance Optimization Update
We’re focusing on a performance optimization update aimed at improving stability and responsiveness across all devices. Our goal is to ensure smoother gameplay experiences, even in the most intense battles.
Skybox Upgrade – A Visual Boost
Visual immersion matters, which is why we’re working on a skybox upgrade to improve the look and feel of all in-game maps. Expect richer, more vibrant skies that make every naval engagement feel even more epic.
Bot Behavior – We Hear You
We know that bot behavior in battles has been a source of frustration for many players, and we want to assure you that we’re fully aware of the concerns. While it might seem like a simple fix, the truth is that refining bot AI is far more complex than it appears on the surface. That said, this issue has our full attention. We're dedicating additional resources specifically to address bot performance and ensure a more engaging, challenging gameplay experience. Meaningful adjustments will take time, but we're actively working on solutions and will keep you informed as progress continues.
Thank you for your patience and trust as we work to make World of Warships Blitz the best it can be. Your feedback drives us forward, and we’re committed to delivering an experience you can be proud of.
