Check out everything new coming in Update 7.2.
You might remember that we teased a surprise in our last Roadmap. Well, here it is:
We've been listening to your feedback regarding aircraft carriers and their impact on gameplay. That's why this update introduces changes aimed at improving the role of aircraft carriers in battles.
Another big surprise is in the works, but for now, we hope these changes will steer us in the right direction, meeting your expectations and providing a better battle experience.
Aircraft Carrier Spotting Changes
In response to player feedback and for improved game balance, we've implemented significant adjustments to the Squadron Vision function. Here's what's changed:
Before
When squadrons were flying, there were no detection range indicators, and the detection logic relied on a fixed-distance circle. This meant players couldn't see the detection distance of squadrons.
Now
Interface: We've introduced a vision range display that includes both sector and circle elements. Players can now combine these elements as desired, displaying only a circle, only a sector, or a combination of both.
Logic: The interface now selectively displays the detection range of the currently selected squadron.
Interface prompts and actual vision logic are only active during the flight phase of the squadrons.
Real-time updates on the squadron's interface are based on its current position and direction.
When squadrons are in "other states," such as taking off, attacking, or returning, the interface detection range is hidden, but the detection logic remains active.
Squadron Status Notes have been introduced to indicate different phases:
- Take-off phase — Leaving warship, moving to the target
- Flight phase — Squadron flying to the target point to attack
- Attack phase — Attack is in progress
- Return phase — After the attack or an active return
Design: Fighter squadrons now have circle detection ranges, while other squadrons have sector and circle detection ranges.
The detection range and angles of squadrons will expand as the tier of the warship increases.
Note: This change primarily aims to weaken the vision detection capabilities of aircraft carriers. As a result, the detection range of aircraft carrier squadrons has been reduced by a range of 30% to 50%.
These changes were made in response to player feedback and to ensure more balanced battles. They are not final, and we'll continue making further adjustments based on data and player feedback to improve the experience for our players.

New Techline Additions
In Update 7.2, we're excited to introduce the second part of the Spanish Cruisers Techline, featuring even-number tiers. Prepare to set sail with the following additions:
Spanish Tier II cruiser Méndez Núñez
Ships Blas de Lezo and Méndez Núñez were laid down in 1917, showing considerable British design influence and resembling contemporary British C-class cruisers. However, as Admiral Méndez Núñez's namesake ship couldn't be completed in time for the Admiral's 100th anniversary in 1924, the names of the two ships were switched. With the outbreak of the Civil War, the crew of cruiser Méndez Núñez chose to stay loyal to the Republicans. During the war, the cruiser escorted merchant ships and took part in the Battle at Cape Palos. In 1938, Méndez Núñez was damaged during an air raid by rebel bombers.
Spanish Tier IV cruiser Almirante Cervera
In 1922, a project was created with the assistance of the British company Armstrong to build new cruisers for the Spanish Navy. The project was based on British E-class cruisers and incorporated the experience gained during World War I. The Spanish cruisers differ from their prototype by the location of their propulsion plants. At the beginning of the Spanish Civil War, a fight was sparked on board Almirante Cervera as the Republicans tried and failed to take the ship out of the port, and the ship fell into the hands of Franco's side. This cruiser took part in the blockade of the coast, supported troop advances with covering fire, escorted convoys, and participated in the Battle of Cape Palos.
Spanish Tier VI cruiser Baleares
In 1926, Spain ordered two modern "Washington Treaty" cruisers. Vickers-Armstrong created a project based on County-class cruisers, with reinforced AA defenses and armor protection. The cruisers were named Canarias and Baleares after the major Spanish archipelagos of the same name. Although the construction of both ships was delayed, the Nationalists who later seized the shipyards forced the ships' construction to speed up until completion. Baleares participated in the offensive against Málaga and in the hunt for transport ships, carrying out raids on coastal fortifications and bombarded cities. The cruiser was sunk by Republican destroyers in the Battle of Cape Palos.
Spanish Tier VIII cruiser Cataluña
After the Nationalists proclaimed victory in the Civil War, ties between Spain and the Fascist regime in Italy built up momentum. Suffering from a scarcity of modern ships of all types in its service, Spain planned to study the latest advancements in global shipbuilding, including those made by Italy. The Ansaldo company came up with three heavy cruiser projects for Spain, each with its own armament composition. One of the projects provided for armament made up of three 203 mm triple-gun mounts.
Spanish Tier X cruiser Castilla
While developing their own heavy cruisers, Spanish engineers actively adopted Italian expertise and the latest achievements of Italian engineering in the field of ship armor protection and armaments. The knowledge gained could have culminated in a project based on a fusion of Italian and Spanish naval design thinking—projects of the Ansaldo cruisers and a project for a "Super Washington" cruiser from the Ferrol shipyard.
New Premium Ships
American Tier VIII Premium cruiser Oregon City
Oregon City is the lead ship of the Oregon-class heavy cruisers, equipped with the same type of main guns as the Baltimore class, and a single funnel, replacing Baltimore's two funnels and widening the AA gun firing arcs. Oregon City adopted some of the latest technologies and equipment, including highly automated gun systems and air defense systems.
French Tier VIII Premium battleship Picardie
In 1912, France initiated the construction of larger docks at shipyards in Toulon and Brittany. By that time, the major naval powers were laying down ships significantly more advanced than their predecessors in terms of main caliber. France was also contemplating a shift toward a caliber of 370–380 mm; however, naval guns of this caliber were not yet accessible in France. As a solution, engineers opted to increase the number of smaller-caliber guns, with the final design featuring as many as 16 guns placed in four turrets.
German Tier VIII Premium cruiser Schill
In the late 1930s, the German Navy High Command ordered the development of a project that was intended for use as part of a naval blockade of Great Britain by raider formations. Twelve P-class ships, created based on the development of the Deutschland-class Panzerschiff (heavy cruiser) project, were supposed to act as the main strike force in this plan. In 1939, contracts were signed with dockyards for the construction of these ships, but the order was subsequently canceled in favor of O-class battlecruisers. The original documentation specified the ship class as Handelsstörer, or "Raider."
Spanish Tier X Premium destroyer Álvaro de Bazán
During the Civil War, the Spanish Navy lost many ships. That's why, as soon as the war ended, Spain started rebuilding its navy. In 1940, design work for a destroyer leader commenced. Three designs were produced, one of which was Álvaro de Bazán, based on an Italian Capitani Romani-class light cruiser. The design was never implemented due to Italy's involvement in World War II.
American Tier X Premium battleship Rhode Island
A battleship based on a 1938 "fast battleship" design variant, featuring an alternative armament configuration. The ship's main battery consists of twelve 356 mm guns housed in quadruple-gun turrets, initially planned for use on North Carolina-class battleships in 1937.
British Tier IX Limited aircraft carrier Black Audacious
This heavy aircraft carrier project, designed at the end of World War II, represented a further development of the Implacable class. Her large dimensions allowed her to overcome the major drawback of her predecessors—the relatively small number of airplanes that could be carried onboard. The aircraft carriers initially laid down as the Audacious class were completed much later, in the 1950s, with a significantly modified design.
American Tier IX limited destroyer Black Fletcher
The Fletcher-class destroyers were built during World War II. Their balanced design combined offensive capability, protection, and seaworthiness within a 2,100-ton ship. The Fletchers have been called the most successful ship design in history.

Battle of the Atlantic: This collection highlights key materiel and personnel from one of the most significant and prolonged campaigns of the 20th century—one that ran throughout the full course of World War II. It was a concerted effort on the parts of both the Allies and Axis that saw each side attempt to cause profoundly adverse economic effects on the other while simultaneously striking critical military targets. While the result was eventually victory for the Allies, it was no simple feat, and there were numerous significant and costly losses that could easily have swung the Allies into the jaws of defeat: Great Britain could perhaps even have been knocked out of the war if the nation had succumbed to the economic stranglehold that Germany successfully imposed on them during the first half of the campaign with their U-boat fleet and raiding forces. Through this collection, we'll explore the stories of some of the notable ships and leaders involved.
Players will be able to obtain the following rewards:

Battle of Midway: After the attack on Pearl Harbor spread war to new parts of the globe and the Pacific theater of World War II erupted into existence, Japanese forces steamrolled through the region and laid the foundations for their dominance. The Allied forces appeared to be firmly on the back foot after a series of defeats, and the Japanese had every intention to take advantage of this. However, following a surprise defeat in the Battle of the Coral Sea, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto sought a decisive naval battle to permanently defeat the American fleet. He planned to lure the American aircraft carriers into a trap, but little did he know that the Americans had intercepted their communications and were preparing their own ambush. This collection explores key players in the resulting engagement—the Battle of Midway. Primarily involving aircraft carriers, this battle went down as one of the most decisive in history and marked a turning point in the Pacific War, putting an end to Japanese expansionism.
